“I am delighted and honoured to be a patron of Breaking The Silence.
My respect for the survivors of Domestic Violence and my desire to help, has come from meeting women who have endured this barbaric behaviour for many years.
Their stories of brutality and their candid descriptions of the despair and loneliness they felt, moved me to tears. All they had left was hope and that is what eventually pulled them through.
Thankfully I have no experience of domestic violence but I have seen how it can damage a person physically and mentally. I want to help raise awareness about this issue because I believe violence in any form is not acceptable.
I look forward to working with the team at Breaking the Silence and helping to change lives for the better.“
Sameena is the glamorous, friendly newsreader on ITV News Central with the big smile!
